Laura is the owner and founder of e.Merging Educational Consulting. She has been working with families in the Denver area for over 20 years as a preschool and elementary educator, admissions director, parent educator, and educational consultant. Her educational background includes a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education and certifications in educational advocacy and Love and Logic facilitation. Laura is a certified member of the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners. She is also a professional member of the Independent Education Consultants Association. As the mother of four very different children, Laura brings practical experience to each of her consultations. She’s able to use creative problem solving tactics for the benefit of her clients, many of whom find her to be a trusted confidant and advisor. Jen Rigsby is an educational consultant with e.Merging Consulting. Prior to joining e.Merging, Jen worked for over a decade at some of the top public and private elementary schools in Colorado. Her educational background includes a Masters in Elementary Education, an endorsement in Gifted and Talented education and certification in English as a second language. In addition to classroom experience, Mrs. Rigsby also has extensive experience as a tutor, crafting specialized learning plans to meet the needs of students both for remediation and enrichment. In addition to her wide instructional work, Jennifer has also worked as a consultant for the Colorado History Center, creating curriculum for teachers and students to support exhibits and offerings, while aligning with Colorado standards. Jen Rigsby is a dynamic and charismatic leader in the educational industry due to her commitment to excellence.
Christina Shimrock is an associate consultant at e.Merging with 7 years experience in the education field. Her love for teaching and learning has placed her in middle school language arts classroom settings from rural Ohio, to urban Denver, to most recently in an independent school. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, both at Ohio University. During her time as a teacher, Christina recognized her passion for advocating for students with special needs and learning differences. She comes to E.merging with a focus on our Advocacy clients and Inclusion Project to ensure all students have a voice and choice in their learning journeys. Christina is one happily married lady to Tommie, a special education teacher in Denver Public Schools. She believes it to be an honor to be a apart of the e.Merging team and to serve the children and families of Denver.
Libby Wigand is a research and advocacy support specialist with e.Merging Consulting. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, with a Masters in Special Education from St. Josephs University, and a Post Maters Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis, she is dedicated to improving the educational experience of every child. Over the last five years, Libby has worked in the special education classroom setting and one-on-one with children with autism, and their families, in home and clinical settings. Libby, a native Coloradan and avid skier, loves to work and play in Denver. She is thrilled to be a part of the e.Merging team.
Megan joins the e.Merging team from Oregon, with a background rooted in education based non-profits. She brings 7 years of experience performing assessments, observations, and working one on one with parents and children aged 4 to 17 with varying degrees of emotional, academic and developmental needs. She graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and Sociology. As a part of the e.Merging team, Megan is eager to utilize her skills to contribute to e.Merging’s research and advocacy team, and support clients with a high quality of care. When Megan is not working with our clients she enjoys cooking, spending time outside, and reading.
Originally from Ohio, Courtney obtained her Bachelor of Art in psychology at Anderson University in Indiana, and is currently pursuing her Masters in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Colorado, Denver. As a part of the e.Merging team, Courtney’s role as an Administrative Assistant includes project management and attending to each client with a high quality of care. She loves connecting with families and learning about their stories! In her spare time, she loves exploring the outdoors, reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Mark brings his experience as a former CEO to e.Merging’s consultative work with schools and organizations. Mark has served as an executive level coach and strategic business consultant and advisor for leaders of organizations ranging from large corporations, like Hewlett Packard, Visa, Ericsson and Cisco, to local and national non-profits. Mark has experience in all functional areas of business with a preference for leadership development, communication, organizational design, strategic planning, human productivity, and operations. Ous H. Badwan, Psy.D., M.F.T.
Dr. Badwan’s clinical work is primarily focused on the area of child psychology. He is a fellowship trained psychologist with a post-doctoral specialization from the University of Colorado’s School of Medicine, through the Harris Program In Child Development and Infant Mental Health. Currently, he provides clinical and assessment services tailored to the young child population through his practice at Birch Psychology. He also serves as adjunct supervisor at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology. Christine DeVore, Psy.D.
Dr. DeVore is a fellowship-trained clinician with a post-doctoral specialization in Psychosocial Oncology from the Colorado Blood Cancer Institute at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center. Previously, she earned her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver. Dr. DeVore specializes in medical psychology, grief and loss issues, perinatal mental health (pregnancy through 1st year after birth) and women’s issues. Her work primarily focuses on providing psychotherapy, consultation, supervision and assessment with adult clients or professionals. Dr. DeVore manages a general practice of adult clients where she treats a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety and trauma. Jay Willoughby, Psy.D., M.F.T.
Dr. Willoughby is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Colorado. Trained as a general pediatric psychologist, Dr. Willoughby received doctoral-level training for the treatment of child trauma from The Kempe Center; and, for the treatment of childhood anxiety, disruptive behavior and mood disorders from the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Children’s Hospital Colorado. During his internship training at Children’s Hospital Colorado, Dr. Willoughby also received specialty training in pediatric health psychology, where he consulted with inpatient and outpatient medical teams and helped children with acute and chronic medical conditions. Stephanie Miller, Ph.D.
Dr. Miller is a licensed psychologist with a background in both clinical and school psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral clinical internship at Children’s Hospital Colorado through the Department of Psychiatry and Behavior Health where her training emphasized delivery of evidenced-based interventions in the treatment of childhood anxiety, disruptive behaviors, and mood disorders. She received training in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, where she provided psychological and cognitive intervention, assessment, and consultation services for children and families impacted by traumatic brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injury. Dr. Miller completed a fellowship specializing in pediatric psychosocial oncology in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, providing psychological services to patients and families facing life-threatening oncological and hematological disorders. Natalie Gart, Psy.D.
Dr. Gart is a Clinical Psychologist who specializes in working with young children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, medical challenges, difficulties with attachment, behavioral concerns, have experienced trauma or are having a hard time adjusting to a change. Dr. Gart received her doctorate and masters degree in Clinical Psychology at the Graduate School of Professional Psychology at University of Denver. Dr. Gart completed her predoctoral internship at St. John’s Child and Family Development Center in Santa Monica, California where she also worked in pre-school classrooms, consulting with teachers and helping parents navigate early intervention and academic systems.
