Children who are identified with learning differences have specific educational needs that require specialized and individualized learning plans to access the school domain. It has become necessary to advocate for children in order to offer these students an educational environment that supports them in every way possible.
As a mother of a child with learning differences and a partner to countless families who have needed my support, I have spent many hours collaborating with parents, students, and schools to create sustainable learning plans that support student growth for students with ADHD, Dyslexia, Executive Functioning and Profoundly Gifted needs, among others. As a result of 19 years of advocating for my daughter and hundreds of other students throughout the country, I have developed a style that is both collaborative and fierce.
Developing an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or a 504 plan is a complex process. As a part of this process, I partner with Birch Psychology to assess your child’s learning style and specific needs. I will passionately advocate for your child and provide support services to help navigate you and your child through this daunting process. I will be here for you and your child as we I advise you through the formal identification process to finalizing your child’s mandated document.
"Neurodiversity may be every bit as crucial for the human race as biodiversity is for life in general. Who can say what form of wiring will prove best any given moment?”
– Harvey Blume, Atlantic, September 1998
