College Counseling

I believe that the college process is an opportunity for young adults to explore identity, establish independence and create the path towards “being launched.” I want my students to not only get into colleges but to be successful in the colleges they attend. Together we create a customized plan with touch points along the way that is simple and empowering for both students and parents.

We will start with an introductory session which will include:

  • Goal setting
  • Review of a pre-completed needs questionnaire
  • Review of all available academic and psychological records
  • A customized plan with a financial estimate of additional services if needed

Freshman Year

Planning consultations are designed for 8th and 9th families who are interested in getting a head start and to get a solid footing in the college search process.

  • Big picture overview of the college landscape
  • Assessment Planning (PSAT, SAT, ACT)
  • Education: Parent and student education in drug, alcohol and sex education
  • Student inventory

Guided Path (online portal) overview

Sophomore Year

Sophomore consultations are designed for 10th-grade students families who are grounded in the search process and are ready to fine tunes.

Sophomore students

  • Goal Setting

  • Review of freshman year transcripts and test scores
  • Test prep recommendations for PSAT
  • First college list recommendations for review and trip planning

Junior Year

Junior year is typically the most stressful for students as they dedicate their time to their academic and extracurricular profile.

Senior Year

Senior Year is when all the work we have done together begins to pay off. Students and parents have a strong understanding of the college process, have reviewed college lists and it is time to modify, shift and get to work on the applications, deadlines and finalizing essays.
